The patient is here prior to regularly scheduled appointment to ask about whether it is safe to continue current treatment with AVANDIA. He is very concerned that this medication has gotten some bad press recently.
We looked some stuff up on the internet during our visit and we both agree that at this point, the risks of continuing the AVANDIA probably outweigh the benefits so we are going to switch him over to ACTOS.
Total time spent with the patient: 26 minutes over half of which was devoted to counseling regarding AVANDIA as described above.
